November Meeting @ Lish’s

24 Oct

We’re just racking up meetings now, headed toward our fourth month in a row. Woohoo!

In any case, our next meeting is November 18, when we are scheduled to chill with Lish and her kitty Mia at 119 Brainerd Road in Alston.  We’re reading Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert (or at least pretending to read it) and cooking up some Italian food!  YUM!

Maybe we can watch the movie?

…Carpooling is key because parking totally blows- everything except my street is permit parking, and the parking just over the Brookline town line is 2hrs. May the force be with everyone who has a car!!

Anyway, please SIGN UP for something Italian to bring with you and to let us know you’ll be there.  (Maybe we can get SIX people this time!)

Here’s the info on Eat, Pray, Love…

At the age of thirty-one, Gilbert moved with her husband to the suburbs of New York and began trying to get pregnant, only to realize that she wanted neither a child nor a husband. Three years later, after a protracted divorce, she embarked on a yearlong trip of recovery, with three main stops: Rome, for pleasure (mostly gustatory, with a special emphasis on gelato); an ashram outside of Mumbai, for spiritual searching; and Bali, for “balancing.” These destinations are all on the beaten track, but Gilbert’s exuberance and her self-deprecating humor enliven the proceedings: recalling the first time she attempted to speak directly to God, she says, “It was all I could do to stop myself from saying, ‘I’ve always been a big fan of your work.'”
